About the Artwork
In Jeongwons paintings, there is no hierarchy of people, animals, or objects. The works 'Two Dolphins' and 'Red Duck' are characterized by the artist's highly imaginative painting style, and feature various races, animals, and hybrid creatures, each of which happily coexist in harmony in an idealized world. Through these beautiful fantasies created with a playful and free compositional style, the artist raises questions about the true blessings of life. Jungwon Yoon studied in Germany, where she was awarded an international art prize at the Kunstverein, and her original works, including her well-known Barbie dolls and chandelier installations, are in many collections. Using a variety of mediums including installation, painting, and photography, including objects that reuse small industrial materials, he freely expresses his thoughts on human desire and freedom.
Artist's Notes
Why should we dream unnecessary dreams and hold the arts in our hearts, such as music, art, etc. Wild sheep are very sensitive animals, but they love sloping, bumpy, rocky hills, and I think of Endymion, a beautiful shepherd boy in Greek mythology who lived freely by running around with her, and he fell in love and went in search of her, and although he is not capable of empathizing with human misfortune and even deep love, he lives now with romance and fantasy that reconciles the ideal and reality. I do that by listening to music and dancing.
