The series of "Internal Rhythm" begins with constant awareness and research on the nature of painting. Without damaging the original meaning of painting, it puts greater weight on the autonomy of painting itself. Pure painting is a formative work that uses color and form, and it is composed of pursuing a series of artistic autonomy from the flatness of painting.
Specifically, the work "Internal Rhythm" was painted several layers on the lower layer of the surface, which at first glance appeared to be a monochromatic surface, and then cut down to lines suggesting images through artistic symbols and codes. The single color surface revealed here is only a surface appearance, and there are numerous layers of colors stacked in layers on the actual surface. The countless lines shown on the screen, or symbols are not just 'drawn', but are lines that appear themselves from the color layers of the work, as a result of the process of strongly 'cutting' the color layer with a sharp chisel, adding patience. It is based on a paradox completed by the exposure constantly erasing and filtering.
Like Sisyphus's act of rolling back the stones that were raised to the top, constantly painting and re-cutting the paint on the canvas is an art of perpetual repetition. The repetition of the act contains the spirit of oriental circulation in itself, where creation and destruction occur simultaneously.
The work emphasizes the subtle color value revealed by the overlap of colors and and the overlapping of strokes by the brush. In other words, formative elements such as lines, shapes, and colors in organic forms gradually converge into the plane. And this work gives new value to the plane through visualization of the color layer similar to the change in the stratum, while organically harmonizing physicality and spirituality in painting by embedding naturalness such as creation and extinction revealed in the process of the art work.
Overall, it is a space covered with monochrome monochrome, but looking at the subtle flow and relationships of lines emitted from the shaved surface, you can feel a quite different atmosphere inside and outside. It is called 'Internal Rhythm' and mainly represents the inner state of mind. This may be an expression of the artists's own inner space, but it also provides an opportunity for all the viewers to feel their feelings.
