Artist Koh Sangwoo uses negative films to obtain blue-tone photographs that reveal the inner emotions of his models. Inspired by the innovativeness of Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning and Andy Warhol's works, Koh Sangwoo always pushes his creativity further, beyond conventions. The artist mainly photographs endangered species. He paints his models with expressive colors and adds butterflies to bring about beauty. He focuses on capturing the very essence of the beings he sees through his lens. Koh Sangwoo wants to connect the model and the spectator, and offer a different way to look at the world that surrounds us, giving us the opportunity to better understand ourselves.
